About the CDI

About the CDI

Find out about the CDI's work supporting members and championing the profession.

The CDI - the professional body for career development

The Career Development Institute (CDI) was formed in 2013 to set standards, advocate for and promote high quality career development for all. We do this through supporting nearly 5,000 members and championing the profession. We offer key career development qualifications, provide continuous professional development (CPD) and training, and host major online and face-to-face conferences and events.

We maintain the UK Register of Career Development Practitioners, offer the Careers Assured quality mark for resources and develop resources to support careers practice, research and policy-makers. We support people joining and progressing in the profession with the Careers in Careers job board, input to policy development, provide consultancy services and offer sponsorship, exhibiting and advertising opportunities to partners.

Everything we do is guided by our Vision - For every individual to realise their career potential so they can enhance their wellbeing and fully contribute to the economy and society. We achieve this through a dual focus of supporting our members and championing the profession..

Using the CDI logo and branding

CDI logoThe CDI brand is one of our most valuable assets. It is our visual statement of who and what the organisation is, reflects our personality and all that the professional body stands for. Our corporate identity guidelines ensure consistency in the use of the logo, font and colour scheme in printed and online communications.

Members of the CDI are encouraged to use the initials MCDI after their name and in professional communications. Members cannot use or copy the CDI logo and embed it in their own resources, websites or printed communications. This is clearly stated in the corporate identity guidelines.

Members of the UK Register of Career Development Professionals can request a specific logo to promote their status as registered professionals. Find out more on the UK Register of Career Development Professionals page.
