What the Register is...

The Register is a government requested source of information on practitioners who as a: 

Registered Career Development Professional are qualified to provide personal career guidance/coaching and:

  • hold a full qualification in career development at graduate level or above 
  • adhere to the CDI Code of Ethics  
  • undertake and record a minimum of 25 hours CPD each year to maintain and develop their skills and knowledge 

OR

Registered Careers Leader are qualified in leading and managing career-related learning in organisations and:

  • hold a minimum of a 20 credit graduate level or above qualification in career leadership/careers education 
  • adhere to the CDI Code of Ethics  
  • undertake and record a minimum of 25 hours CPD each year to maintain and develop their skills and knowledge

Who can access the Register

Members of the public seeking careers advice or guidance can search the Register to find someone who can provide these services either online and/or in person.  

Employers and contractors can use the Register to find someone who is qualified to provide personal career guidance and/or lead and manage career-related learning in an organisation. 

Please note that some employers have specific qualification requirements above the minimum level needed to join the Register.
