CEC-funded Careers Leader training delivered by the CDI (5 days)

As the professional body for career development across the UK, the CDI’s expert trainers and assessors have supported over 800 Careers Leaders since 2018.

The Careers Leader training is designed to equip and enable Careers Leaders to prepare and implement a strategic plan for developing a careers programme in their organisation that meets the eight Gatsby Benchmarks. This programme is designed for new or experienced Careers Leaders working in:

  • State-funded schools and colleges
  • Special schools
  • Pupil Referral Units
  • Alternative Provisions

It is available whether the Careers Leader is new to the role or has been in post for several years.

Holders of a level 6 or above Careers Leader qualification are able to join as a Registered Careers Leader on the Register of Career Development Professionals.

The programme is delivered online using Zoom, working with your trainer and other learners in real time. If there is sufficient demand it can also be delivered in person in major towns and cities across England.

The flexible training allows Careers Leaders to tailor the learning to their role and experience. The full programme can include up to 5 training days, with options for core, extension, and top-up routes:

  • Core delivery – 3 days
