UK Government consulting on new V Level qualifications
Following the announcement of the new V Levels qualification, the Department for education is seeking feedback on the proposed design of new pathways for 16-to-19-year-olds, including V Levels.
V Level qualifications will sit alongside A levels and T Levels and are proposed as a 360 guided learning hour qualification. The survey is also seeking views on two new pathways at level 2.
The consultation is seeking feedback on the design of the qualifications themselves, as well as questions related to support such as careers guidance, including;
‘How could current information, advice and guidance be improved or what new guidelines or measures should be developed to ensure that students are informed about V Level subject selection and combinations?’
And…
‘What non-qualification activities do you think are successful at supporting vocational students to engage best in their course content in order to achieve in their course and progress to their stated destination?’
The CDI are planning to respond to the questionnaire in line with our work on technical education pathways.
The feedback is open until Monday 12th January and can be access on the Department of Education consultation website.
