UK Government boosts Connect to Work programme with £167m funding
The Department for Work and Pensions has announced and additional £167m in funding for nine areas of England, to further help those struggling with disability or ill-health to access work.
The investment, expected to help an additional 40,000 people, includes intensive employment support, some situated in GP surgeries, mental health services and community partners. This increase is expected to take the full investment to over £1 billion across England and Wales by the next five years, with a target of helping 300,000 people into work.
As well as employment support – including virtual interview practice – the scheme allows tailored support such as access to affordable childcare, running workshops to build confidence and more.
