Developing Critical Career theory – a model for practice
The University of Derby has published a new paper looking at Developing Critical Career theory to develop a model for practice principles.
The paper, authored by Professor Tristram Hooley, Dr Ghazal Vahidi and Aman Mankoo from iCeGS along with European colleagues, is produced as part of the Critical Perspectives on Career and Career Guidance (COCAG) project led by iCeGS.
As part of COST and funded by the European Union, the paper argues for the development of critical career theory to respond to ‘inequality, precarity, and ecological breakdown’. It aims to distil diverse traditions into practice principles that connect career guidance with group, organisation and policy change.
The paper also outlines the group’s agenda to ‘map theory, strengthen the evidence base and shift institutions.
