Congratulations to Sammy Everard RCDP on her MBE

After being announced in December as part of the New Year’s Honours list, last week Sammy Everard was presented with her MBE by King Charles for her support for people with disabilities.

Sammy is the founder and CEO of the SAMEE charity, based in Bournemouth, which provides a one-stop support service for disabled people to develop careers and employability skills and explore self-employment opportunities.

The charity was founded in 2015 and launched the UK’s first two-year Supported Self-Employment Internship programme in 2023, providing intensive training and mentoring for young adults. This includes achievement of a level 1 Steps Into Self-Employment qualification.

As a Registered Career Development Professional, Sammy is a prominent figure in the profession, having authored articles in Career Matters, presented at CDI and many other conferences, and as a winner of the UK Career Development Award for Post-16 Career Programme in 2023.
