Last chance to get tickets for IAEVG International Conference

There is still time to get tickets for the IAEVG International Conference in Auckland from 25-27 November.

The conference brings together career development practitioners, researchers, policymakers and more from around the world, with a wide range of workshops, talks and networking opportunities to ensure attendees gather insight and share experiences with colleagues globally.

The conference includes two international plenary sessions, each led by a panel of global experts who are shaping the future of our profession. These offer rich learning, global perspectives and practical ideas to inform your work.

The CDI is involved with the first, the opening plenary of the conference, with Chief Executive David Morgan part of an international panel presenting on Enhancing Career Development Professionalism – International Case Studies. Chaired by Tristram Hooley, David will present the CDI’s work on professionalism as a case study alongside Sareena Hopkins from Canada and David Carney from Australia.

Professionalism is the backbone of strong, trusted career development systems and the panel will share how our national bodies are strengthening standards, qualifications, ethical frameworks, and certification systems.

The second plenary again features Sareena Hopkins, alongside Deirdre Hughes, and looks at Artificial Intelligence in Career Services – Evidence, Ethics, and System Readiness.

This session shares findings from a major Canadian study exploring how practitioners are using AI, where ethical risks are emerging and what systems need to be in place to ensure responsible, equitable integration. It will provide fresh evidence on adoption trends, practitioner concerns, and the aspects of guidance that must remain human.

Beyond these two sessions, the main stage will include key contributions from respected New Zealand professionals. Jay Tihema and Rihi Te Nana will bring an indigenous perspective on career guidance from Aotearoa, Stuart Carr will address sustainable livelihoods and Welby Ings will challenge convention and speak about Invisible Intelligence.
