CDI announces new Northern Ireland and Scotland Associates

After many years as the CDI’s Scotland Associate, Professor Pete Robertson will be stepping down at the end of March. I would like to thank Pete for all his support for the CDI in this role – as well as over the past three years as President Elect then President of the CDI.

I am delighted to share that Uuganaa Ramsay will begin as the new CDI Scotland Associate at the beginning of March, picking up many of the activities that Pete has established. Uuganaa is an existing CDI Board member and comes with over twenty years experience in career development in Scotland, including working with SDS, as a careers adviser in universities and more.

I am also very pleased to announce that Finneen Bradley will be the first CDI Northern Ireland Associate, starting on 1st April. With the addition of careers teachers in secondary schools in Northern Ireland to the CDI membership, the CDI is investing in this new role to develop and strengthen relationships, raise the profile of the profession and provide more tailored support.

Finneen has an impressive background in career development in Northern Ireland, with many years at North West Regional College and latterly with her own careers company supporting schools, colleges, employers and community organisations. Finneen will strengthen our relationships with the Northern Ireland Careers Service, careers teachers, other members and careers-related organisations across Northern Ireland.

Finneen and Uuganaa join Alistair Pitt, who started as the CDI Cymru Wales Associate last year, and they will be building on our successful approach. This includes providing feedback into the CDI and the wider profession on developments in the nations, providing local CPD support and developing a programme of regular online forums to explore key topics of interest to careers professionals and related organisations.
