The CDI Council is an advisory body that represents the interests of the membership.

You can view our affiliate organisations or affiliate schools and colleges on their respective lists. These are public records and useful for potential employees, clients, parents, teachers, government and the wider public to see whether an organisation is a CDI affiliated member and subscribes to the CDI Code of Ethics, therefore ensuring high quality provision and best practice.

The CDI's 2025 strategy launched in December 2021 and clarifies our purpose, establishes a clear direction and enables us to prioritise future investment.

During 2023 we will be developing our Environment and Sustainability Strategy, to play our part in addressing climate change and  working as a responsible organisation.

NICE brings together HE institutions and individuals involved in the academic training of career practitioners. Funded by the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme from 2009-2015, NICE is now managed by the NICE Foundation.

Based at the University of Derby, iCeGS is a research centre carryng out research and consultancy focused on the career development profession and widening access. iCeGS also offers training, including a range of accredited learning programmes to doctoral level, including the Qualification in Career Development.   

The ICCI is an independent, competency-based, certifying body of career development practitioners, building a global network of career professionals. It provides leadership in certifying professional practice, advocating inclusive practice and embracing diversity of client focused services on career and talent development and life-design counselling & coaching. 

The CDI Board is committed to being as transparent as possible in their governance of the organisation. In addition to the Annual General Meetings, which all CDI members are entitled to attend, in January 2023 the Board decided to make the minutes of Board meetings available.
