Small Business Summer launches to engage years 7-13
Edge Foundation continues their Apprenticeships Work campaign with the launch of Small Business Summer, working with Amazing Apprenticeships.
This stage of the campaign aims to introduce learners in years 7 to 13 to small businesses in their community and highlight the opportunities and benefits of taking up an apprenticeship in a smaller organisation.
Small businesses make up 99.8% of all businesses in the UK and 60% of all workers are employed in small businesses. Yet only 37% of apprentices work in the sector, creating an opportunity to significantly increase the interest among both employers and young people.
The campaign includes a wide range of resources for schools and employers to help connect young people with opportunities in their local area. The campaign also includes a series of free webinars and hundreds of schools, colleges, and small businesses have already signed up to the campaign.
