Scottish Careers Week 2026 announced: 9-13 November
Scottish Careers Week 2026 will take place from 9 to 13 November, under the theme Shape the Future. Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is encouraging educators, employers, organisations and communities across Scotland to get involved and help people explore their future options.
The campaign aims to highlight how careers support, learning, work and local partnerships can help people understand their choices and make confident decisions. For educators, the week provides an opportunity to connect learning with the world of work and showcase the range of pathways available. Employers are also encouraged to share career stories, promote opportunities and highlight the skills needed across Scotland’s industries and regions.
This year’s campaign comes at a time when the labour market is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence, the transition to net zero, demographic change and wider economic pressures are reshaping the world of work. SDS highlights the importance of high-quality careers support, employer insight and local opportunities in helping people of all ages navigate an increasingly complex environment.
Scottish Careers Week also reflects an all-age approach to career development. Whether people are at school, leaving education, returning to learning, changing direction or considering their next step, the campaign aims to make careers support more visible, practical and accessible.
