North Wales pupils explore careers in law and justice
Careers Wales organised a recent careers event in partnership with Bangor University that introduced Year 9 pupils to a wide range of roles within the law and justice sector. The event brought together employers, training providers and professionals to help pupils understand the skills, qualifications and pathways needed to enter careers in policing, legal services, forensic work and the wider justice system.
The programme offered the chance to take part in interactive activities and hear directly from people working in the sector. Representatives from policing, probation, legal firms and youth justice services, gave learners insight into both frontline and specialist roles. The event aimed to broaden awareness of the diverse opportunities available and to challenge misconceptions about careers in justice.
Careers Wales emphasised that sector‑focused events play an important role in helping young people make informed decisions about their future learning and work. By connecting pupils with employers and professionals, the event supported early career exploration and encouraged learners to consider the skills and attributes needed for progression into justice‑related pathways.
The initiative forms part of Careers Wales’ wider programme of employer engagement, designed to strengthen labour‑market awareness, support curriculum enrichment and help young people understand the opportunities available in key sectors.
