National conference explores next chapter for Welsh apprenticeships
The Future of Apprenticeships Wales Conference will take place in Cardiff on 24th November 2026, bringing together employers, training providers, policymakers and sector leaders to discuss the future direction of apprenticeships in Wales.
The event comes at an important time for the sector, with significant reforms to apprenticeship delivery planned from August 2027. Discussions will focus on how apprenticeship provision can continue to support learners, employers and the wider economy while responding to changing workforce requirements.
Participants will explore the role apprenticeships can play in addressing skills shortages, supporting economic growth and creating progression opportunities across a range of sectors. The conference will also consider how greater collaboration between employers, providers and government can strengthen apprenticeship pathways and improve access to opportunities.
The event will provide valuable insights into the future direction of apprenticeship policy and practice in Wales. As reforms develop, Career Development Professionals will continue to play a vital role in helping individuals understand apprenticeship opportunities and make informed decisions about their learning and career pathways.
