How to support Scotland’s low-income workers

The Learning and Work Institute (L&WI) has published their latest report which looks at how best to support low-income workers in Scotland.

Many people across Scotland – and the UK – suffer from in-work poverty and face barriers to career progression. The L&WI research, delivered with Edinburgh College and funded by the Robertson Trust, builds the evidence base for what works in supporting low-income workers into better jobs.

It includes a model for an in-work progression programme, designed with low-income workers in Edinburgh, training providers, employers and sector experts, and calls for the programme to be piloted to gather impact data.

The model includes access to careers and employability advisers.
