Building an AI-ready workforce – L&WI report
The latest report from the Learning and Work Institute (L&WI) looks at how the UK can create a skills system that builds an ‘AI-ready workforce’.
The report, funded by The Rigby Foundation, demonstrates the potential value of preparing UK worker for a transition to AI based work, with an estimate increase in productivity worth £80 billion to the economy by 2035.
They argue that, while usage is growing, it tends to vary by organisation size and applications of AI still tend to be fairly shallow.
The report calls on the UK Government to address the gaps in information and knowledge that are slowing adoption and investment in skills by employers, and build greater flexibility into the technical education and skills system.
