Your voice: How can career development widen access to higher education?

The Widening Access to Higher Education Task and Finish Group was established by the Department for Education to develop action for Government, the HE sector and other organisations to narrow the HE participation gap, focusing on those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including those with experience of the care system and young carers.

Free to attend
Career development can play a valuable role in widening access to higher education for young people and adults from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and CDI Chief Executive, David Morgan, has co-ordinated evidence to the Task and Finish Group, with input from a range of organisations including the Careers & Enterprise Company. Now the two organisations have been tasked with proposing career development solutions to narrow the participation gap, and this webinar is an opportunity for career development professionals to give their feedback on possible solutions and raise further ideas to make a significant impact.

David, John Yarham (Chief Executive of the Careers & Enterprise Company), and Laura Hawksworth (Associate Director Policy & Impact at the Careers & Enterprise Company), will share a brief overview of the work to date and present a number of potnetial solutions for discussion. There will also be time for attendees to raise and explore other possible solutions to be considered.

Please do join us and share your views so we can champion the best career development solutions for this work.

Free to CDI members and non-members.
