As increasing numbers of UK students explore university options in the US, Canada, Europe, and beyond, careers leaders and advisers are often the first point of guidance—yet many international systems operate very differently from UCAS. This session will provide a clear, practical overview of global application pathways, including key differences in admissions processes, timelines, entry requirements, and decision-making frameworks across major destinations.

Drawing on extensive experience in global admissions and school engagement, we will explore why more students are looking internationally, common misconceptions families hold about studying abroad, and how advisers can effectively support students at each stage of the process. Attendees will leave with greater confidence in discussing international options, a clearer understanding of application strategies and timelines, and practical tools to guide students in making informed, well-researched decisions about global higher education pathways.
