CPD topic: Green Careers Week

The green agenda sounds simple to grasp – we are living in a climate emergency and must transition to a net-zero world. But the reality is more complex. The main drivers for change don’t always align and are, at times, at odds with each other; what’s more, political commitment to the climate change agenda remains inconsistent globally. For careers practitioners and their clients this raises a crucial question: what does this mean for skills and occupations over the next few years? In this webinar we’ll explore ways in which we can support clients to plan and prepare for a future labour market where global sustainability must be addressed but job and career opportunities may have uncertain timelines.

Learning Outcomes

• Identify what we mean by green skills and the roles in which they appear across different sectors

• Understand the tensions between green jobs projections and the influences which sometimes shift unpredictably

• Identify how the transition to a more sustainable world creates different opportunities and barriers for specific client groups

• Review where to access information on green skills and careers

Target audience

This course is suitable for careers leaders and career development practitioners working with a range of clients.
