About Me

Advisor with 42 years of experience in the Guidance Sector, 18 years fully qualified QCG Careers Adviser (including Professional Practice Certificate in I have worked in the Careers Service for all of my working life starting off in Administration, Employability Advisor and Senior Admin job roles before completing my Career Guidance qualification in 2004 while working for the service. Over the years I have been fortunate to work in a variety of settings; delivering Career Guidance, Employability Support, Group Work and 1:1 support in schools, colleges, local community venues, 1:1 support in offices and other areas, I have worked with an extensive range of clients both as a Careers Advisor and Key Worker which over the years has built my knowledge and experience. Currently, working as an Employment Advisor providing support to young people aged 16-24 enter and sustain employment, training, and education. Design and deliver 1:1, group work, resource materials and sessions related to employability skills, conduct work reviews, complete update client action plans, and collaborate with Supervisors and Managers from both internal Council departments and external employers. Additionally, work with employers to promote available funding to recruit young people into appropriate positions, highlight Modern Apprenticeship opportunities for progression or further advancement. Managing all aspects of administration required to deliver the service via the No-one-left-behind service within West Lothian Council geographic area.
