About Me

I've enjoyed different careers in marketing, engineering, photography and, most recently, education, so have a broad view on the pros and cons of many different careers. I always enjoy learning about new opportunities and sharing new ideas with students. In 2024 I was shortlisted by the Career Development Institute for Careers Leader of the Year and won their award for ‘Best Pre-16 Careers Programme’ for my work at Nottingham High School.

This mention from the 2023 report by the Good Schools Guide, on Nottingham High School, sums up my approach to careers guidance:  Top-notch careers advisor known for opening students’ eyes – just because you’re good at science doesn’t mean you have to be a doctor etc. ‘They’re never pigeonholed,’ said a parent. One student told us she was applying for a degree apprenticeship – ‘they really promote them and have been massively supportive around it,’ she told us.
