About Me

I have been a careers professional since 2004 having previously worked for a lead body and been involved in developing assessor and verification courses & running courses across a range of occupational standards. Part of the role involved working with adults and school leavers on employability skills and assessing work place competence.

My Role at Sidmouth College is to offer impartial advice and guidance to all students and to ensure they all have access to a careers programme which enables them to make realistic informed decisions post 16 post 18. I liaise with the Local Authority, Future Smart Careers, Local networks, colleges, universities & business partners to ensure up to date information is delivered. I have led the school through the Quality in Careers standard, Investor in Careers and subsequent reassessments. I have been through three Ofsted assessments where the work we do and the positive impact on students has been recognised.

I have been a Mentor for the CDI which has been a fantastic opportunity to support a variety of careers professionals in developing areas they have identified.

Additionally I am working on a freelance basis with Investor in Careers as an assessor for the Quality in Careers award.
