About Me

Trained as a Biologist, BSc (Leicester), PhD (Warwick) I studied the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster for 20 years. I was a university admissions officer for Biosciences for five years and have seen more UCAS forms than I would like to think about! Since 2010 I have worked in schools as Head of Higher Education and Careers. I have extensive experience of University admissions from both the universities’ and applicants’ point of view and have written comprehensive guides for pupils and parents. I have designed and run CPD courses on getting pupils into top universities, for senior staff at Independent schools, grammar schools and academies and have also been a panel member for UCL Medical School admissions and enjoy writing articles about careers education.
