About Me

I have led, delivered and won Matrix accreditation for an FE College Careers service (2010-2013), delivered the Matrix accredited CEIAG service at another FE college (2022-2023) and trained other staff within my roles. Some examples: Careers junior and Future Quest Advisor at City of Bristol College 2023, the University of Bristol Law School apprentice 2017/18, Postgraduate Arts Admissions and new-starter staff in Undergraduate Arts Admissions processes & procedures at Royal Holloway, UoL 2014-2015 and FE tutors in UCAS reference writing at Amersham & Wycombe College (now part of Buckinghamshire College Group) 2011-2012.

During my career, I have become known for my person-centred, impartial CEIAG provision and my public speaking skills and colleagues have often approached me to advise their children, family members or friends. My goal remains to support young people, adults and my local community with career progression, learning, development and accessing services.

In July 2024, I was given a Green Careers Champion Award at the WECA SEND Conference via the CareerPilot and WECA Green Jobs partnership pilot to raise awareness among advisers and young people of the 50'000 Green jobs planned in the Southwest area by 2030; I was subsequently asked to volunteer as the Green Champion for FutureSmart Careers.

I have an interest in the MH and wellbeing of both clients and colleagues I work with, so have recently completed Counselling Level 2 to refresh my active listening, non-directive/non-judgemental, person-centred approach skills after 22 years and build my counselling skills. I am enjoying connecting with new people and learning more about myself by reflecting on my Guidance and Wellbeing practice.
