About Me

I am a dedicated and approachable Careers Adviser with over 15 years of experience supporting young people to make informed and confident decisions about their futures. Since beginning my career in January 2009, I have been passionate about helping individuals recognise their strengths, raise their aspirations, and explore the opportunities available to them. I hold Level 4 and Level 6 qualifications in Careers Guidance, alongside a Master’s degree in Careers and Professional Development from the University of Huddersfield. These have provided a strong foundation for my practice and continue to shape my commitment to delivering high-quality, impartial guidance. Between 2009 and 2017, I worked within a Local Authority, where I supported young people both in schools and through a NEET caseload of 16–19 year olds. This experience strengthened my ability to build trust, work with individuals facing a range of challenges, and support them to re-engage with education, training or employment. Since 2017, I have worked as a self-employed Careers Adviser, primarily within school settings. I support students aged 11–16, as well as those in sixth form, helping them to understand their options and feel more confident about their next steps. I particularly enjoy working one-to-one with young people, creating a safe and supportive space where they feel listened to and empowered to make decisions about their future. I value reflective practice and ongoing professional development, and I am committed to continually developing my skills to ensure I provide the best possible support to the young people I work with.
