Jillian Millar

About Me

I am a registered career development professional with an MSc in Career Guidance and Development. I also hold a BA (Hons) Psychology and Sociology, Postgraduate Certificate in Women’s Studies and Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Prior to training as a Careers Adviser, I was a successful HR professional in both the public and private sector with extensive experience in line management, coaching and stakeholder engagement. My wide skill set enables me to flex my career guidance practice to work with a range of client groups.
My interest mainly lies in working with individuals who historically have experienced barriers in world of work, for example socio-economic status, ethnicity, disability or gender. I have worked with Lothian Equal Access Programme in Schools (LEAPS); Graduate Career Advantage Scotland (GCAS) as well as Higher Education institutions, and am currently working for Skills Development Scotland. I thrive on giving clients the tools that support them to make positive career choices..
