About Me
I have been a careers professional for over thirty years, working in education including specialist schools, mainstream schools and colleges. I have extensive experience in the field of SEND (special educational needs) which enables me to support people of all ages on their career journey, realise their own dreams and potential and get the job they truly want.
The aims and objectives of career coaching is all about success and achievement for the client - to provide a framework and understanding of the world of work and the changes within it. I want my clients to achieve and succeed, to enable them to fulfil their own dreams and ambitions and, in the process, support them on their own career journey:
“I want real results for my clients. It’s the learning relationship between coach and client that brings about change. Not just an intervention, an event or an opportunity but one where two people meet, they share knowledge, values, attitudes, skills and experience. They relate to one another. They connect. I am the person who is going to stand in your corner, work with you, challenge you and value you to enable you to succeed.”
People can get stuck at any point in their career and the career decision making process and sometimes feel they have let themselves down by taking a part-time or lower paid job, for example. Clients may want to make changes but feel like they are teetering on the edge, reluctant to make the transition. Some of the reasons for this might include lack of motivation, indecisiveness and dysfunctional myths.
As a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic some people are now finding themselves faced with unemployment. In such circumstances it is essential that people access the right career support, to access appropriate career opportunities to enable them to make the transition into employment.
As a career advisor and coach I can help you better understand the reality of your situation and circumstances, giving you a deeper insight into your current career situation; considering your underlying motivations and aspirations - what makes you tick as a person - and then enable you to overcome barriers and make effective decisions to match your aspirations.
