About Me

Careers Officer, Diploma in Careers Guidance, with over twenty years’ practitioner experience in schools, outreach, further education and higher education.  8 years within the Connexions Service in the UK, with caseloads primarily in school and sixth form environments.  Over 12 years in Ireland in a higher education setting. 

Current principal role in supporting IT Sligo students to make and implement well thought through decisions, to progress their career journey.  Continually grow links with industry and establish partnerships.  Organise annual careers fairs, both online and on campus.  Facilitate weekly employer led talks.  Provide career seminars/lectures.  Grow and share employer networks with students via the online careers services platform.  Provide one to one and group career guidance, CV clinics, assessment centre and mock interview support.  In addition, grow links with other education institutions to support student’s progression to further study and help students to access community organisations to facilitate volunteering and not-for-profit engagements.

IT Sligo is a higher education institution based in the west of Ireland.  There are currently 8,600 learners on; campus based, online and blended programmes.  Careers guidance and supports are provided to all learners from the three faculties:  Business and Social Sciences, Engineering & Design and Science.  Across 80 full time and 140 part-time online courses.
