About Me

I am a level 7 qualified careers practitioner, with a Masters degree in Education from Edgehill University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance and Development from the University of the West of Scotland. I hold the CDI Qualification in Career Development (QCD) and I uphold the CDI code of ethics as a registered careers development practitioner. Having previously worked in the Sixth form of an 11-18 school in Liverpool, I now work in an independent school in Dubai, UAE and have extensive experience of working with young people within secondary and further education. Being approachable, friendly, supportive and with a positive can-do mindset, has enabled me to build positive working relationships with clients. I have clear insight and understanding into the needs of students in the process of transitioning from KS4 to KS5, as well as the university application process (UCAS and CAO forms, STEP tests and Oxford/Cambridge entrance tests) and working closely with students to develop their self-awareness and explore their career ideas and aspirations. I have experience in hosting numerous Sixth form and GCSE open afternoons and options evening discussions, conducting 1-1 careers meetings and interviews with students of all ages, facilitating year 12 admission interviews and mock interviews for unversity admissions. I have created and facilitated engaging careers workshops, assemblies, university visits and work experience placements. I am able to coach and motivate clients and open their minds to possibilities in the pursuit of excellence. Although predominantly student based, I also have experience working with adult clients who are interested in pursuing a career change or coaching those who would like to return to work after a period of absence.
