About Me

I am a careers advice and guidance professional, experienced in supporting students, young people and adults of all ages to progress in their employment and education. Currently Careers Leader at Parkwood E-ACT Academy (11-16), Sheffield, offering one to one guidance and developing a varied careers programme. I am keen to network and learn from other like minded professionals, along with employers with keen to showcase their industry to young people and offer talks, work experience or other opportunities. Recently completed PgCert Careers Leadership at University of Huddersfield and led school to gain Quality in Careers Standard. Prior to my current role was Employability Adviser at Sheffield Hallam University for 11 years providing practical information, advice and guidance to students and graduates around job search applications and career plans, in both one to one and group settings. Also working alongside academic departments to embed employability into the curriculum with particular. I also spent 3 years on secondment with HeppSY (Higher Education Progression Partnership), to raise aspirations and help targeted young people in schools and colleges across South Yorkshire. Supporting schools to empower their students by strengthening their careers offer and delivering staff training. I began my guidance career working adults of all ages as part of the Next Step Careers Service. This included working with long term unemployed, refugees, ex-offenders and clients from a wide range of backgrounds.
