About Me

Avril Bartley-Smith retired as a Vice Principal and established her business Timelyadvice ltd in 2012 working across  Northamptonshire. My experience of working with young people has lasted a life time and as a careers ambassador through most of this time it was logical to create TimelyAdvice to provide "The Right Advice at the Right Time" to support all young people to follow a sustainable career pathway at the next stage of their lives.

All young people have transferable skills which will help them achieve their full potential but they are not always aware of what they are and how to use them. We support by providing  careers education, information advice and guidance to parents, students, teachers and employers. 

We never give up and ensure all students have a suitable sustainable destination through dogged determination. We frequently hear from students and parents after they have left education  either updating us or asking for further help as they pursue their goal.We have supported over 8,000 young people to achieve their full snce the service started.

We offer all aspects of careers support from NEET prevention work to Apprenticeship and UCAS applications. Early support is essential and we work with students from  year 7 through to 18 plus including those with special educational needs.

More recentlly we are now working closely with SEMLEP and offering a full careers policy review with recomendations to help schools meet the Gatsby guidelines. This is a service which Careers Leads and School Leaders find useful.

Our service is available throughout Northamptonshire and the immediate areas in the East Midlands.
