Andrew Macklin

About Me

I’ve spent 25 years working as a professional actor across stage and screen, from Ireland to the UK and beyond. My theatre credits include companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and Druid Theatre, alongside work on TV for Netflix (Wednesday, The Witcher), FX (Say Nothing), BBC (Doctor Who), and many more.

Alongside acting, my career has taken me into applied theatre and education, including training in domestic violence prevention, working against misogyny, and developing healthy relationship practices through arts education and facilitation. That experience taught me how much shifts when people are given time, space, and tools to think differently about the roles they play in life as much as on stage.

It’s also what drew me into coaching. I trained first as a Transformational Coach with Animas Coaching, an ICF-accredited coach training provider, and then deepened my practice with postgraduate study in Career Coaching & Counselling Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. Out of this blend of creative practice and evidence-based coaching came Boundless Careers, one of the first organisations of its kind to bring together research-led approaches and evidence-based tools to the lived realities of sustaining a creative life. My focus is on supporting creative people whose work is more than a job, but part of their identity and calling to navigate uncertainty, avoid burnout, and build careers that are fulfilling, adaptive, and sustainable. I partner with Minding Creative Minds in Ireland, an organisation providing free support to creatives across the sector (from counselling to financial advice to career coaching). I also work with Aspire Leadership in London, delivering training in leadership, communication, assertiveness, and presentation skills.

As an actor, coach, and founder, my career has always been about performance and people. Today, I continue to work between the UK and Ireland, actively managing my own busy creative career while helping others do the same.
