What we can learn about talent pipelines from other sectors

It seems it is not just the Careers sector which is strugglig to attract and retain new talent.  A tax-free incentive for new early years workers is being piloted across 20 local authorities.  This £1,000 incentive payment is part of a wider Department for Education approach to to increase the workforce in this sector, ahead of the government's plans to expand funded childcare.  This follows a survey by the DfE with 2045 adults, finding that two in five would be more likely to consider working with children if they recieved a cash payment upon joining.

Meanwhile an article in WONKHE explores the success of the public sector in recuirting graduates and yet staff retention and recruitment is in freefall.  The article explores the role Universities have to play in supporting the talent piepline.

These articles provide some insights into the struggles facing many sectors and their approaches to overcoming them, in order to attract and retain the right talent.  Food for thought.
