UK job postings up 10% in resilient labour market
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) published their Labour Market Tracker for August, showing that active job postings rose by 1.8% on July and by 10.4% over the past year.
There were 1.7m active jobs posted in August. While the number of new postings was 1.9% down from July, they were still 3.6% up on August last year.
Scotland saw seven of the ten counties with the highest increases in postings, while Sussex and Surrey were among the areas with the largest decreases.
The REC commentary says that the UK labour market remains resilient but needs further stimulation for growth.
