The UK Government has published a report by Dr Nisreen Ameen from Royal Holloway, University of London, exploring AI skills in the UK workforce. The report, AI Skills for the UK Workforce, summarises findings from workshops, roundtables and research.
It examines AI adoption across the ten key growth areas of the Industrial Strategy, identifies common barriers to adoption and issues for smaller businesses and individuals.
It also provides an AI skills tools package that includes an AI Skills Framework, an adoption pathway model and employer adoption checklist.
One of the findings of the research is that older workers, those on low incomes, those with limited digital skills and women working in sectors where they are underrepresented face more significant challenges in building their AI skills.
