UK Career Development Awards nominations to open in May 2026

For 2026, the nominations period for the prestigious UK Career Development Awards will begin in early May and close in June. This is a change from recent years when nominations opened in December with a closing date towards the end of January.

Following changes to the Awards categories for 2025, we have also reviewed the timing of the Awards dinner – recently held in June, the evening before the National Careers Leaders’ Conference. We have decided to change this so that the celebration and announcement of the UKCDA winners will be held at the CDI National Conference in November.

The CDI National Conference is unique in bringing together career development professions from across all areas of the sector, right across the UK and beyond. It is a better representation of the diversity of the sector and so is a better fit with the Awards, which recognise amazing achievement for professionals and organisations in all areas of careers work.

Nominations for the Awards will open in early May and close in June, with judging taking place in the run-up to summer. The shortlist will then be shared, giving plenty of notice for those successful in making it to that stage. The winners of each Award will be announced at the dinner in November. We are still finalising exact dates and all the information you need will be available when entries open.

The Awards are a fantastic way to gain recognition for your achievements or for the amazing work of colleagues, teams and organisations. The Award categories cover all areas of career development work and all CDI members are encouraged to enter.

You can see information on 2025’s winners at the UK Career Development Awards page.
