UCAS launches Destinations Programme, created by careers advisers

UCAS has launched its Destinations programme for students to explore their options and make informed choices.

The UCAS Destinations Programme aims to provide schools and colleges with a two-year Careers Discovery Framework that has been designed with careers advisers to help raise student aspirations, improve outcomes and support post-18 progression.

The programme has been designed by career development professionals Liane Hambly, John Paley and Lis McGuire. It aligns to the Gatsby Benchmarks and guides students through ‘a progressive journey of discovery – building knowledge, confidence, and decision-making skills’.

The programme also offers community support, professional development, online clinics and opportunities to share best practice.

The free resources are designed for work with young people aged 16–18 and aim to reduce effort and curriculum planning time for those working with students, offers flexible resources to fit existing curriculum plans and supports students as they explore pathways and make decisions on their next destination.
