Twelve new Welsh Youth Hubs to strengthen progression pathways
The UK Government has confirmed 12 new Youth Hubs across Wales, offering services including careers guidance.
The announcement represents a significant expansion of support for young people navigating the transition into education, training and employment. Youth Hubs will bring together Jobcentre Plus, local authority services, employers and training providers, with access to career development and wider support. Locations have been selected to address both urban and rural needs, with a focus on areas where young people face persistent barriers to progression.
The hubs aim to strengthen early‑intervention support at a time when youth unemployment remains elevated. By integrating careers guidance with employability and wellbeing services, they are designed to reduce fragmentation and ensure that young people receive timely, person‑centred support.
For careers professionals, the hubs offer new opportunities for partnership working, employer engagement and targeted outreach to those most at risk of disengagement.
