Skills England launches new Employability Skills Framework

Skills England has launched a new Employability Skills Framework as a ’practical translation resource’ for use across the skills and employment system.

The Framework links to the Standard Skills Classification, Skills Builder, Essential Digital Skills and other frameworks in an effort to create an overarching, aligned view of employability skills.

The twelve skills are; adapting, working with others, listening, speaking, leadership, learning and investigating, creating, problem solving and decision-making, numeracy, digital literacy, reading and writing.

For each skill, the government sets out a definition, what the skill might look like in a first job, developing the skill, what employers should look for, how employers can explore and develop an employee’s skill level, using AI tools and how the skill maps to other frameworks.
