Sainsbury’s to offer 10,000 work experience opportunities
Following the announcement that M&S are to offer 1,000 training places in stores, Sainsbury’s has said that they will offer 10,000 work experience opportunities through their ‘Modern Work Experience Programme’.
The aim is to help young people gain skills and experience in work environments to build their confidence and prepare them for work, reflecting the government’s priority to engage employers to offer more opportunities to young people.
The programme launches in October, targeting schools and areas with higher levels of disadvantage, to engage young people who may struggle to find opportunities themselves due to a lack of employer networks or other barriers.
The programme is planned to run across the UK in areas where Sainsbury’s can have the biggest social impact.
