OU conference - increasing women’s career expectancy – 29 Sept

The Open University is hosting a conference titled ‘Elevate Equity: Increasing women’s career expectancy’ on 29th September.

The event is free to attend and is being held at the Open University in Milton Keynes from 9:30am to 5pm.

The conference reflects recent data showing women being underrepresented at all levels of corporate roles, and with an overall employment rate 6.4 percentage points below men.

Having supporting hundreds of thousands of women to progress in their careers, the OU are holding this conference to share how employers are changing how they support their staff to enable more women to upskill and reskill.

The agenda is based around three panel sessions. The first focuses on re-engineering support across STEM and digital to address barriers that shorten women’s career expectancy.

The second looks at why women leave female-dominated professions, while the third looks at how women can make the move into leadership and decision-making roles.
