New Welsh Government apprenticeship roles open across Wales
The Welsh Government has announced 35 new apprenticeship opportunities across Wales, opening up pathways into a wide range of careers including transport, tourism, energy, education and digital roles. The scheme forms part of the Government’s long‑standing commitment to apprenticeships as a central pillar of Wales’s future skills system. In the most recent recruitment round, around 70 individuals secured roles through the programme, demonstrating sustained demand for high‑quality entry routes into public‑sector careers.
The new roles are open for applications and will remain available throughout September. The Government emphasises that the apprenticeships are designed to support people at different life stages, by offering structured development, paid work experience and clear progression routes. Former apprentices quoted in the announcement describe the scheme as transformative, helping them build confidence, discover new interests and move into long‑term careers within government.
The Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education, Cefin Campbell, highlighted the importance of investing in apprenticeships to strengthen Wales’s skills base and support public services. He noted that the roles provide opportunities for individuals to gain practical experience while contributing directly to communities across Wales.
