Investing in skills – international insights for the UK

The Learning & Work Institute has published a report summarising insights from nine international policy case studies, looking at how employers can be incentivised and supported to invest in skills and training.

The Investing in Skills report, co-funded with the Nuffield Foundation and the University of Strathclyde, highlights how these insights could apply to the UK, where investment in training by employers has fallen by 30% since 2011.

Features of successful policies include bei8ng true partnerships with stable multi-year funding, include employers as co-designers, reduce bureaucracy and offer modular, flexible provision.
