Future Jobs Roadmap for undergraduate work experience
Universities UK and partners including Graduate Futures Institute have published the Future Jobs Roadmap report, with recommendations on support for undergraduates in England.
Three themes from employer engagement highlighted in the report are; the opportunity from improving work readiness, the high pace of change and unpredictability of future directions, and the opportunity to further leverage university-employer partnerships.

- A target for all undergraduates to have access to work-based learning by 2035.
- Making AI tools accessible to undergraduates.
- Extending university careers support across a graduate’s career.
- Using bitesize learning for employers and undergraduates to co-invest in training.
- Introduce graduate schemes for small-to-medium employers in each region.
- Making it easier for employers to engage with universities.
- Reducing the cost of hiring entry-level graduates.
