First TEDI Talk from the CDI – supporting LGBTQ+ clients
Ifza Shakoor launches the CDI’s first TEDI Talks video in discussion with Chris Dobry on LGBTQ+ inclusion in career development.
Following the TEDI framework - Transformative, Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive – the CDI’s EDI Associate Ifza Shakoor opens this series of TEDI Talks which relate to the EDI webinar series but offer space for open, honest and practitioner-focused discussion.
Ifza is joined by Chris Dobry, a graduate of the careers programme at Edinburgh Napier University. Chris is a career development professional working in the third sector and joins Ifza to discuss his journey into, and in, the profession as a trans man. He and Ifza also discuss creating psychologically safe career conversations; identity, disclosure and belonging; challenging assumptions and unconscious bias; practical strategies for inclusive practice; and reflections for career development professionals.
