Employers seeing increasing difficulty recruiting staff
The British Chambers of commerce have published their latest Quarterly Recruitment Outlook, showing a growing number of employers facing recruitment challenges.
The research, for the period 18th August to 15th September 2025, includes responses from over 4,600 businesses, over 90% of which were small-medium enterprises (SMEs).
It found that those facing recruitment challenges went up from 73% to 75%, despite a slight fall in the number attempting to recruit in the last three months (down from 55% to 54%).
There are some indications of further growth, with 25% saying they are planning to increase the size of their workforce in the next quarter, after only 22% said they did in the last quarter.
