CEC open letter on DfE careers education tender

John Yarham, CEO of the Careers & Enterprise Company, has written an open letter in response to queries about the Department for Education launching market engagement activity around a new contract for careers education.

His letter welcomes the proposed move to longer-term funding agreements, with the specification outlining a 3years plus 2 model, compared to the current annual funding sign-off. This will bring greater stability to the work supporting school and college careers programmes.

John’s letter outlines some of the key aspects of the draft specification – including the greater focus on local Careers Hub investment – and is clear that the CEC welcomes the opportunity to bid to remain the provider of the services outlined.
