Cardiff hosts Wales’ biggest youth jobs fair to date

More than 2,000 young people attended Cardiff’s biggest ever Youth Jobs Fair at the Principality Stadium, connecting directly with employers, training providers and careers services. The event, held as part of the UK Government’s Youth Guarantee, brought together jobseekers from across Cardiff, Newport, the Valleys and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Over 40 employers and training providers took part, including the Welsh Rugby Union, Aramark and Transport for Wales. Attendees were able to explore hundreds of live vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities, with more than 600 on‑the‑spot job offers made during the event. Career pathways highlighted on the day included defence, hospitality, construction and transport.

Ahead of the fair, young people received group information sessions and practical support to help them prepare for meeting employers face‑to‑face. This included guidance on applications, interview preparation and building confidence — ensuring participants were ready to make the most of the opportunities available.

The event forms part of wider efforts to tackle youth unemployment and ensure that every young person has the chance to earn or learn. By bringing employers and jobseekers together at scale, the fair has helped create meaningful pathways into sustainable employment for young people across Wales.
