A vision for vocational education in Scotland
A new report by Professor Joe Little (University of Stirling) highlights the changing global influences affecting future vocational education in colleges in Scotland.
The report aims to assess the urgent changes required in vocational and technical education in Scotland. His findings follow on the from Withers Report in 2023 which reached a similar conclusion.
It describes policy environments where world class vocational and technical education are achieved as having college priorities driven by government and business, alignment with business growth ministries, direct ties to provision of essential skills and hands-on skills development with online blended capability.
