Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) explores the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and how a change in one area can influence the others. When we hold negative or unrealistic thoughts about a situation, these thoughts shape how we feel and how we respond - often leading to unhelpful actions or, in some cases, inaction. CBC offers a practical toolkit to help clients examine their 'negative automatic thoughts', assess how realistic or helpful those thoughts truly are, and recognise how they may trigger unproductive emotions and behaviours. From there, clients can choose alternative thoughts that are more balanced, evidence‑based and constructive.
In this webinar, we will introduce the core principles of CBC, including the key differences between coaching and therapy. We will explore some examples of how CBC can be used and try some practical activities to deepen our understanding. There will also be time for discussion and questions, and pointers for how to develop these skills further.
